Back in March 2023, we started shaping ideas around a circular economy.
As a startup providing sustainable & circular fashion solutions, our mission has always been to create meaningful impact in our community. With sustainability. We aimed to leverage the unique strengths of Australia and India for a win-win outcome.
The newly signed Australia-India FTA added another layer of motivation, giving a fresh push to our vision of a circular economy for the Australian & the global fashion industry.
In our research, we uncovered a key gap,: Australia grows industrial hemp but lacks the capability to process it, while India can process the fibre but growing it is highly regulated.
Fast forward 19 months, and after heaps of hard work, we’ve completed our pilot project— transforming raw hemp exported from Western Australia into textile-grade cottonised fibre.
BushWeave–Hemp is our proof of concept, for commercial scalability of Australian Hemp fibre.
